COP Alex Mensah was at the focus of a parliamentary investigation into a leaked audio tape in which the content aimed to remove the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
However, COP Alex Mensah allegedly hailed the situation surrounding the released recording as a “blessing in disguise.” He further accused the IGP of masterminding the tape to sabotage his political ambitions.
According to constituency sources, Mr Mensah also received the support of the departing Member of Parliament and First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu, commonly known as Joe Wise.
