Former President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to begin a two-day tour in the Eastern Region on January 30, 2024, as part of his ‘Building Ghana’ campaign. The main objective of the tour is to connect with the people of the region and understand their concerns and needs.

The tour will kick off with a meeting with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Regional Executive Committee and other stakeholders at the Peduase Valley Resort. This will provide an opportunity for Mahama to discuss party matters and listen to the views of local leaders.
Following this, there will be a courtesy call on Anum Manhene, a respected traditional leader in the region. Mahama will then attend a durbar, or gathering, of farmers and fishmongers at the Frankadua Market Square. This will be an occasion for Mahama to engage with the local agricultural community and understand their challenges.
In the afternoon, a durbar of transport unions and traders will take place at the Roman Catholic Parish Hall in Agormenya. This will provide a platform for Mahama to interact with those involved in transportation and trade in the region. The day will conclude with a town hall meeting at the GNAT Hall in Koforidua, the capital of the Eastern Region. This meeting will give the former president an opportunity to address the concerns of the local community and answer their questions.
The first day of the tour will end with a Campus Connect event at the SDA Training College. This event will allow Mahama to engage with students and young people in the region and understand their aspirations and concerns.
On the second day of the tour, activities will begin with a breakfast meeting with clergy members in Koforidua. Mahama will then pay a courtesy visit to the Koforidua Zongo Chief, engaging with the Muslim community in the region.
Other engagements will also take place to round off the tour of the Eastern Region.
