The Mamprobi Hospital, formerly known as Mamprobi Polyclinic, has initiated the groundbreaking for the reconstruction of its emergency ward unit, set to commence next week. This endeavor aims to address emergency situations affecting patients in the Mamprobi community and its surroundings.

The ceremony, held at the Mamprobi Hospital in Accra on Monday, February 26, was attended by the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuje, along with various NGOs collaborating to ensure the success of the project.

With the transition to a computerized system for record-keeping, the space previously allocated for patient folders now lies vacant, prompting the decision to repurpose it for the construction of a new emergency unit. Given the hospital’s struggle with only three beds in its emergency unit, the new facility will accommodate at least 11 beds, enhancing healthcare capacity and making a positive impact on Mamprobi and its environs. The support of Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuje, the MP for Ablekuma South, was instrumental in this endeavor.

Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuje emphasized the responsibility to be prepared for any circumstance and expressed his aspiration for Mamprobi Hospital to become the nation’s premier healthcare institution. He stressed the importance of being equipped to provide excellent healthcare in emergencies and acknowledged the contributions of NGOs, particularly Dr. Klotey and her team SOURCE ONE, towards the reconstruction project.

“nobody knows , we don’t wish it on anybody that the moment comes when you have to be rush to an emergency, we don’t wish it on anybody but it is incumbent upon us that we should be ready so should the moment come that you get better healthcare, so once our Mamprobi hospital is here I believe we have the responsibility to do whatever it takes to help the administration and staff of Mamprobi hospital to be one of the best healthcare system in this country.

“and I can guarantee you, let us pray for life, because a day will come when you will be happy with this hospital, we have not arrived yet but we thank God for the successes that we have chopped and have come this far”

“ I am so grateful to ambassador Dr. Klotey and her team SOURCE ONE for coming to our aid, for responding to our appeal that they will support this project. They have visited me severally, and once we moved the records office, we decided that rehabilitation, renovation must take place to have an emergency place”

Furthermore, Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuje assured that under John Dramani Mahama’s presidency, Mamprobi would see the establishment of a modern hospital, and he pledged to ensure that healthcare development in Mamprobi remains a priority under the Ministry of Health’s agenda. He urged constituents to support the NDC and vote for John Dramani Mahama to realize the vision of a 24-hour economy.

The newly elected Assembly Member of Mamprobi electoral area, Marshak Mensah Soda, expressed gratitude for the MP’s efforts, recalling his personal experiences of receiving healthcare at the hospital as a young boy. He committed to collaborating with stakeholders to promote maintenance culture and enhance healthcare services in the region.

“ as we gather here today we are not just witnessing the physical transformation of a building but revitalization of hope, healing and demonstration of true leadership under my MP, your MP, our MP,  Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuje. In Mamprobi and Ablekuma South at large our hope has being kept alive green means hope and this is the year of hope” he said.
