The Karaga Security Council in the Northern region has implemented a curfew following a clash between residents of Karaga and the military, resulting in one fatality and three injuries.
The confrontation reportedly arose when a rival regent was installed following the death of a self-proclaimed chief of the community.
On Monday, March 25, a group of supporters gathered at the regent’s house to pay homage, prompting intervention by the military to prevent the gathering. The situation intensified into violence, with some individuals allegedly throwing stones at the military.
The confrontation escalated further into gunfire, resulting in one fatality.
