The Board of Chair of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Keli Gadzekpo, has submitted his resignation, effective April 9th, citing personal reasons in his letter to President Akufo-Addo.


Despite stepping down, he expressed well wishes for ECG and the government in their efforts to ensure consistent electricity supply for the nation. Gadzekpo, appointed to the board in 2017 by former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, played a key strategic role in enhancing energy sufficiency. As a seasoned entrepreneur, he has played a significant role in establishing and expanding various companies, most notably the Databank Group of Companies.
With a wealth of experience in investment banking spanning over two decades, Gadzekpo currently holds the position of Board Chairman at Enterprise Group and leads the Databank Foundation, the CSR division of the Databank Group. He graduated from the Achimota School, and holds a BSc in Accounting from Brigham Young University and a CPA from the USA.
Additionally, he is a Mason Fellow of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, where he earned a master’s degree in Public Administration.
