Former students of Mamprobi Methodist Primary School, led by Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, MP for the Ablekuma South constituency, have joined forces to tackle a pressing issue affecting their alma mater.

Gathering at the school grounds, the former students held a significant sod-cutting ceremony, marking the commencement of an initiative aimed at addressing a critical need within the school community.

Expressing gratitude during the ceremony, Headmistress Bernice Nubuor highlighted some of the school’s challenges, stating, “I’m appealing to the former students to help us with the construction of a washroom. To my surprise, it has seen fruition, and here we are today for the sod-cutting for the construction of the washroom for the Mamprobi Methodist Primary School.”

MP for Ablekuma South Constituency, Hon. Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije stressed the importance of alumni involvement in the school’s development, stating, “Old students can always participate in the development of their alma mater, and we can do great things. It’s time to move the old structure of the school into a modernized one. It’s doable, and I want us to do it while we’re alive. This is the beginning, and soon we will dig again and build the foundation so that we can reconstruct the building.”

Reflecting on the significance of the event, a former student remarked, “It’s a memorable one because some of us were in this school as early as the early 1960s, which is very close to 60 years since we left this school. We’re here today for this very important event.”

“This collaborative effort underscores the enduring bond between the Mamprobi Methodist Primary School community and highlights the positive impact that collective action can have on addressing critical needs within local educational institutions.”
