A military officer believed to be in his late 30s was allegedly shot dead in Kasoa, Central Region, on Tuesday, April 30th. Two other officers narrowly escaped death after a sub-chief at Millennium City, known as Benlord Ababio or ‘Nana Ben’, reportedly fired live bullets at them in front of the local police station.

The altercation stemmed from a dispute over a piece of land in the area claimed by the said chief and another individual purportedly related to one of the officers. According to reports from Angel News’ Opanyin Darko, a relative of one of the officers had purchased land on their behalf from Winnebo Ndego. However, their attempts to develop the land were consistently obstructed by a group led by an individual known as Fiifi.

In an effort to resolve the issue, the deceased officer and his companions decided to inspect the land themselves after previously reporting the case to the Millennium City District Police Command. Upon arrival, they encountered another group working on the land. Despite instructing the workers to cease work and accompany them to the police station, they continued their activities.

The officers then proceeded to the Millennium City District Police Command to lodge another complaint. However, upon arrival, they were informed that their initial case had been forwarded to the Central East Regional Police Command. Subsequently, they decided to follow up on the matter.

During their journey to the Central East Regional Police Command, Benlord Ababio allegedly intervened. Despite being instructed to stop, the officers continued driving, prompting Benlord Ababio to reportedly fire into the vehicle, resulting in the death of one officer, while the others managed to escape.
