The Oncology Department at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) is currently turning away patients as doctors intensify their strike due to faulty equipment. While no new cases or referrals are being accepted, patients scheduled for medication are still receiving their treatments.
The strike, which began on Monday, was sparked by doctors frustrated with the hospital management’s delay in repairing the Linear Accelerator, essential for Radiotherapy services.
Consequently, many patients are now seeking medical care at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
