The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced the reopening of applications for transfer of votes and proxy voting for security agencies nationwide.
In a statement released today, the Commission outlined plans to extend these services to 25 public universities and prison facilities nationwide.
The exercise is expected to start from Wednesday, July 3, to Friday, July 5, 2024, at all district offices of the Electoral Commission. This move aims to ensure security personnel, students, and inmates can exercise their voting rights in the upcoming elections.
The EC indicated that applications for special voting will be re-opened for media professionals and security agencies. This process will occur from Saturday, July 6, to Sunday, July 7, 2024.
These measures are part of the Electoral Commission’s efforts to enhance voter accessibility and participation in the democratic process. Eligible individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to update their voting status or apply for special voting arrangements.
The Commission emphasizes that these services will be available only during the specified dates and urges all interested parties to comply with the given timeframe.
