Parliament Clash: Majority Pleads as Minority Boycotts Deputy Minister Vetting

The Majority Caucus is making a last-ditch effort to salvage the vetting process for Deputy Minister-designate Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, as the Minority threatens a boycott.

The opposition’s decision to skip the vetting, announced earlier this week, has sent shockwaves through the political landscape. Their reasoning? A call for government downsizing amidst Ghana’s economic turbulence, rather than expanding the cabinet.

However, the Majority isn’t taking this lying down. In a statement released Tuesday, they branded the Minority’s stance as “regrettable” and are pulling out all stops to change their rivals’ minds.

“Governance must go on, especially in tough times,” the Majority argued, highlighting ongoing efforts to tackle the country’s challenges through stakeholder engagement.
