Sadique Broni Yeboah, the suspended Constituency Secretary, has given the NDC party leadership three days’ ultimatum to reverse his suspension or face legal consequences.
This latest development comes in the wake of a complex chain of suspensions within the constituency. Yeboah and Regional Chairman Prof. Richard Kofi Asiedu were suspended for their role in attempting to oust the constituency’s parliamentary candidate, Nurein Shiabu Migyimah.
The national NDC leadership had previously intervened to nullify Migyimah’s suspension, which was rooted in allegations of immoral behavior and anti-party activities.
In a letter dated July 3, Yeboah’s lawyers demanded that the party rescind the suspension and provide their client with a fair hearing. They argue that the suspension violates the party’s constitution and internal regulations, citing procedural irregularities and a breach of natural justice.
“We have received strict and unqualified instructions from our client to take legal action against you in the event that you default in that regard,” the letter warned.
The situation is further complicated by personal accusations, including claims that Migyimah had an affair with Yeboah’s wife.
This internal conflict threatens to disrupt the NDC’s political strategy in Assin Central, a key constituency in the Central Region.
