The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has strongly denied appointing Sylvester Sarpong Soprano as its Director of Communication. The CPP’s current administration emphasized that Soprano is not authorized to represent or speak for the party.
This clarification comes after Soprano issued a statement in response to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s apology concerning his remarks about Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Soprano welcomed the apology and invited journalists to a press conference. However, the CPP, in a statement signed by Deputy Secretary Joyce Larbie, urged the public and media to ignore any such invitations from Soprano.
“The Convention People’s Party (CPP) write to inform your firm that the party’s current administration has not appointed Sylvester Sarpong Soprano as the Director of Communication and has not been authorised to speak on behalf of the party as such.
“We entreat you to disregard any invitation coming from him in the name of the party and further
disassociate any media engagement with him in respect of the CPP party.”
