Dear Alhaji Bawumia,
I hope this piece of advice finds you well. Instead of dismissing your opponents, engaging in needless name-calling, and running away from the economy to digitalization, you should engage in a debate with your past self, explaining why the macroeconomic indicators – inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, and national debt are worse now than they were in 2016.
At least let us know why the unemployment rate is higher than you came to meet it. Businesses are collapsing, and the cost of living has become unbearable for ordinary Ghanaians while your family members and cronies are living big under your stewardship as the head of the Economic Management Team. Let us know why.
Only through such introspection and accountability can you hope to restore any semblance of credibility and regain the trust of Ghanaians.
