Speaker Alban Bagbin has ordered the Member of Parliament for Sefwi Wiawso, Kwaku Afriyie, to leave the chamber following an alleged disrespectful comment.
The incident unfolded as Speaker Bagbin was announcing the nomination of new judges to the Supreme Court.
While the microphones did not capture the exact words of MP Afriyie, they reached the Speaker’s ears and were deemed inappropriate.
Without hesitation, Speaker Bagbin declared the MP’s remarks as contemptuous of the chair and promptly instructed him to exit the chamber.
