Manoli Youth Ghana, a youth empowerment NGO and non-profit organization has called for peace in Elections 2024. Current surveys indicate a worrying situation where the youth and many other Ghanaians are highly disappointed in the Nana-Bawumia administration for failing to uphold our democracy.
A significant number of the youth in Ghana are seriously considering a shift from democracy to military or other forms of governance. This is a serious concern for our nation.
Moreover, “the Electoral Commission must be open and transparent. They must work diligently to avoid any form of bias and create an opportunity for the entire country to rebuild its lost trust in them.”
This press release to all media houses seeks to echo the voices of our youth and to raise alarm on the time bomb we all rest on as a country. Youth unemployment and idleness are on the rise, coupled with the higher cost of living, causing unbearable hardship among many Ghanaians, especially the youth.
“A hungry man is an angry man; therefore, it is very clear that the anger among our youth is increasing, which could explode at any time. This is our concern as a youth employment organization. We call on all media houses to help echo this to all policymakers, leaders, and all who matter to immediately address most of the economic challenges facing our country, especially youth unemployment. Ghana is sitting on a time bomb, and we must all be awakened.”
The President of Manoli Youth Ghana, Mr. Francis Kwesi Badu-Mello added, “As we approach the 2024 elections, we must create realistic hope to avoid disappointing the youth.”
