Kasapreko PLC has unveiled a new initiative, “STEM For Her,” aimed at inspiring and supporting young women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The program seeks to promote diversity and inclusion in STEM education and careers.

According to Mr. Solomon Owusu Bonnah, Head of HR at Kasapreko, the initiative was launched to address the underrepresentation of women in STEM fields.

“Our environment already provides opportunities for STEM education and careers, and this initiative aims to further support and encourage young women to pursue these fields,” he explained.

The program will engage students from Senior High Schools and Tertiary institutions, providing them with resources and mentorship to pursue STEM courses and careers. Kasapreko’s “STEM For Her” initiative aligns with the company’s sustainability principles, emphasizing diversity and inclusion.

Dr. Ruhiya Abubakar, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Ghana Communication Technology University, commended Kasapreko for launching the initiative.

“STEM is the future, and it can potentially transform countries. I hope Kasapreko will develop a model that supports women in STEM, ensuring they are well-treated and happy in their work,” she said.

Kasapreko’s “STEM For Her” initiative builds on the company’s existing programs, including the Kasapreko Excellence Awards, which target top engineering students in Technical universities. The company has provided National service opportunities, Management Training programs, and industry skills to prepare students for future employment.

By launching “STEM For Her,” Kasapreko demonstrates its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in STEM fields, empowering young women to pursue careers in these areas.
