President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed three new ambassadors, including Deputy Chief of Staff Fawaz Aliu, who will now serve as Ambassador-at-Large while continuing in his current role.
The appointments were officially announced during a ceremony at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, August 7.
Major General Charles Kojo Abedi Awity has been appointed as Ghana’s Ambassador to Serbia, while Mr. Peprah Ampratwum will take on the role of Ambassador in situ, which involves being consistently present and actively participating in key events and decision-making processes.
President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the appointees’ abilities to excel in their new roles, emphasizing their responsibility to strengthen Ghana’s diplomatic efforts globally.
He urged them to deepen ties between Ghana and other nations while pursuing investment opportunities for the country.
In response, Major General Abedi, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, pledged to serve Ghana with distinction.
These appointments come just two months after the Executive Secretary to the Presidency, Nana Bediatuo Asante, was also appointed as Ambassador-at-Large.
