In a significant event at Nsawam, the queen mother, Nana Awo Yaa Amankwah I, has officially installed Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), with the title of Ntentankesehene, meaning Chief of the Internet or Web.
This ceremony took place during Dr. Bawumia’s recent tour of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency, where he was warmly welcomed by enthusiastic NPP supporters. The party faithful accompanied him on a march through the main streets of Nsawam before leading the procession to the Nsawam palace.
Nana Awo Yaa Amankwah I explained that the enstoolment honors Dr. Bawumia’s pivotal role in advancing the government’s digitalization initiatives.
Adding to the momentous occasion, the Chief of Nsawam, Nana Kwame Ansah I, expressed his gratitude, describing the visit as historic. He acknowledged Dr. Bawumia’s deep understanding of tradition and customs and voiced his confidence in the success of the digitization agenda, affirming the appropriateness of bestowing the title of Ntentankesehene upon him.
“I thank God for bringing Bawumia to my palace today. It’s historic for the people of Nsawam, portraying his knowledge in tradition and customers. I’m very grateful. I believe his digitisation agenda shall come to pass, hence we install him as ‘Ntentankesehene.”
