The Ghana Police Service has firmly rejected reports alleging that militia groups are being trained in Kwahu, located in the Eastern Region, in preparation for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
In a concise statement, the Police confirmed that their investigation into these allegations revealed no evidence to support such claims.
“The Police have commenced an investigation to identify those behind the false publication to come and answer for their actions in line with the due process of the law.”
The statement also emphasized the importance of responsible communication, warning the public against spreading misinformation.
“We wish to caution the public against the publication and dissemination of fake news,” the Police added.
