Bernard Owusu has been elected as the new Chairman of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Ghana. Before his election, Mr. Owusu served as the National Chairman of the General Transport Petroleum Chemical Workers Union (GTPCWU). He succeeds Alex Opoku-Nyarko as the TUC Chairman.
In a closely contested election, Bernard Owusu secured 347 votes, defeating the incumbent, Alex Opoku-Nyarko, who was seeking to extend his tenure.
Additionally, Joshua Ansah, the Deputy Secretary General, has been appointed as the new Secretary General, replacing Dr. Anthony Yaw Baah in the role.
