Starlink is scheduled to launch its operations in Ghana by the end of August 2024, having secured approval from the National Communications Authority (NCA). This marks a pivotal advancement in Ghana’s ongoing digital transformation.
In a statement released on Thursday, August 22, the NCA confirmed that Starlink will operate under the name Space X Starlink GH LTD in Ghana. The service will provide high-speed internet access by utilizing its network of low-Earth orbit satellites.
Although the service comes with a high price tag—equipment costs range from $600 to $2,500, and monthly fees vary between $120 and $5,000—its introduction is expected to revolutionize Ghana’s internet infrastructure. Starlink’s cutting-edge technology is set to deliver faster and more reliable internet speeds, making it a significant new competitor in the global internet market.
