The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) says, there has been an interruption in water supply affecting large parts of Eastern Greater Accra since Sunday, August 25, 2024.

After the repair work was completed, other challenges were identified on the same transmission line which necessitated another shutdown”.
Areas impacted include Dodowa, Oyibi, Frafraha, Adenta, Madina, Ashongman, Haatso, La, Osu, Kanda, Airport Residential Area, Legon, and surrounding neighborhoods.
GWCL engineers are working tirelessly to replace a weak section of the transmission line, with repairs expected to be completed by Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
“GWCL Engineers are working around the clock to replace the weak session of the transmission line for supply to resume”.
A statement by GWCL, state that it has implemented emergency measures to mitigate the impact on residents. Water tankers are being deployed to serve essential service providers such as hospitals and schools. The company urges affected consumers to manage their stored water carefully until supply resumes.
