Mahama accuses NPP of economic mismanagement during constituency engagement.

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of mismanaging the country’s economy.

He made this statement during day two of his constituency engagement at Agyen Kotoku in the Amasaman Constituency and Asalaja in the Domeabra-Obom Constituency.

The Chiefs and the people of Agyen Kotoku expressed grave concerns over the poor road network, a dilapidated market, and issues of land encroachment that have plagued their community for years. They further appealed to Mahama to prioritize these challenges if elected back into office.

“We are in dire need of better roads, a proper market for our traders, and the resolution of ongoing land encroachment issues,” the chiefs pleaded, emphasizing the need for urgent action to alleviate their struggles.

Mahama in his response, accused the NPP government of neglecting the community’s needs and mismanaging the country’s economy.

“The current government has failed you,” Mahama stated emphatically. “They have mismanaged the economy, leading to the suffering of ordinary Ghanaians, and left communities like Agyen Kotoku in disrepair.”

He assured the people that the NDC would address their concerns if given the mandate, stating, “We will fix your roads, renovate your market, and resolve the land issues that have caused so much distress.”

Mahama next moved to Asalaja in the Domeabra-Obom Constituency, where he promised the residents the construction of a polyclinic and the repair of their roads. The community members expressed similar concerns over the poor state of infrastructure and healthcare services in their area.

“We will build a polyclinic here and ensure your roads are repaired,” Mahama promised, urging the people to support the NDC in the upcoming December 7 elections. “Your vote for the NDC is a vote for development and a better future.”

As the campaign trail continues, Mahama remains focused on addressing the pressing issues facing communities across the country while holding the ruling government accountable for its shortcomings.
