The Black Stars technical team, including Head Coach Otto Addo, were involved in a road accident on the Tarkwa-Takoradi road while traveling back to Accra.
This incident occurred after they attended a match between Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex 1996 and FA Cup holders Nsoatreman on Saturday, August 31.
The accident caused significant damage to their vehicle, as evident in photos circulating on social media. Goalkeepers’ trainer Fatau Dauda was seen walking near the wreckage.
In an official statement, the Ghana Football Association’s Communications Department confirmed that all members of the Black Stars technical team, including Otto Addo, are in stable condition and were not seriously injured in the accident. The GFA expressed relief that the team members emerged from the accident unharmed.
“We are happy to report that all three members of the technical team are in stable condition and will undergo further medical assessments, as a precautionary measure, upon their return to Accra.
“We are confident that the technical team will be in good shape and ready to lead the Black Stars in the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
“We appreciate the concern shown by the public and ask for your continued support and prayers as we prepare for these important matches,” the GFA statement read.
