KA Technologies Limited, the company tasked with supplying and distributing laptops to teachers as part of the government’s One Teacher – One Laptop initiative, has announced the successful completion of the program.
More than 300,000 teachers employed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) have benefited from this initiative, which aims to digitalize education and enhance research capabilities among educators.
In a statement released over the weekend, KA Technologies stated, “We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the nationwide supply, training, and subsequent distribution of laptops to qualified teachers (Kindergarten, Primary, Junior, and Senior High Schools), teachers on study leave, and non-teaching staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES).”
The company also highlighted the establishment of 24/7 Aftercare Centers across the country to provide ongoing customer and technical support for teachers. “Our user-friendly Katcare App allows the booking of repair services and the purchase of laptop accessories. Teachers can also call our toll-free line at 0800790555 for any complaints or enquiries,” the statement added.
KA Technologies expressed its gratitude to the teacher unions—the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT)—as well as other stakeholders, including the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and regulatory institutions, for their roles in ensuring the program’s success.
“As a local firm, we are indeed gratified to have contributed towards the delivery of digital-aided advancements in teaching in Ghana. We remain committed to leveraging technology to transform all sectors of the Ghanaian economy,” the statement concluded.
