The Office of the President has instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, to investigate allegations of encroachment on the land of Ghana International School (GIS) by individuals purportedly associated with the Jubilee House.
The inquiry follows several incidents: on August 29, 2024, there was an attempt to deliver blocks onto the school’s land, and on August 31, 2024, a tipper truck carrying sand tried to enter the premises.
GIS security and Cantonments Police intervened, resulting in the arrest of two individuals and Chief Superintendent Ibrahim Opoku, a plain-clothed officer who identified himself as being from the VVIP unit of the Office of the President.
In response, GIS management has taken measures to protect its property and has warned against any further encroachments.
