The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to stage a nationwide demonstration across all 16 regions today, September 17, 2024, to demand a forensic audit of the voter registration process.
The opposition party is calling on all Ghanaians to join the Protest, dubbed ” ENOUGH IS ENOUGH a March for Electoral Integrity,” to ensure the integrity of the electoral process and prevent potential manipulation of the voter register.
According to NDC, the demonstration is necessitated by concerns over anomalies and discrepancies in the voter register, which could compromise the credibility of the December 7 elections.
“The NDC will not stand idly by while the electoral process is potentially compromised,”.
“We urge all citizens who believe in free, fair, and transparent elections to join us in this call to action.”
The Electoral Commission has been urged to take immediate action to address the concerns and ensure the credibility of the voter register.
The demonstration is scheduled to take place in all regional capitals, with participants expected to assemble at designated points for a peaceful march.
