The Ghana Police Service has issued a statement denying reports of a shooting incident at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) office in Kumasi.
Contrary to circulating rumors, the police assert that no demonstrators were injured during a recent ‘Enough is Enough‘ protest at the location.
According to the statement, while some demonstrators attempted to forcefully enter the EC compound against previously agreed arrangements, they were merely “restrained” by law enforcement officers on duty.
The police took the opportunity to call for responsible reporting, urging media outlets to exercise caution and verify information before publication.

The Ghana Police Service wishes to state that there has been no shooting incident at the Kumasi office of the Electoral Commission and no demonstrator has been injured by the Police.
However, some demonstrators who went against the agreed arrangement by forcing their way into the compound of the EC office were restrained.
We would like to take this opportunity to urge the media to be circumspect in their reportage.
