The Mortuary Workers Association of Ghana (MOWAG) has announced an indefinite strike starting today, Thursday, September 26, in protest of poor working conditions.
The union has raised concerns over the inadequate supply of personal protective equipment (PPE), which they claim has exposed workers to health risks and other dangers.
In addition to PPE shortages, MOWAG members have not received salary arrears dating back to 2020, and their request for financial clearance to employ 500 additional mortuary workers has been ignored.
