Hon. Ursula Owusu, Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, has officially announced that Ghana will launch its Fifth Generation Mobile Technology (5G) on November 1, 2024.
This landmark development represents a crucial step towards realizing a fully digitized Ghana by 2030, aiming to provide affordable, high-speed mobile broadband services to all citizens, irrespective of their location.
The rollout of 5G technology is expected to bridge the digital divide across the nation, fostering greater financial inclusion and enhancing digital services in various sectors, including education, healthcare, and financial transactions. This ambitious project is part of the government’s collaborative efforts with key partners such as Ascend Digital, K-NET, Nokia, Radisys, and Tech Mahindra.
