STEALING A DRUM IS EASY BUT WHERE TO PLAY IT IS THE ISSUE

BY: GODWIN AKO GUNN

It started with the killing of eight (8) innocent people. Then, a strange High Court decision to prevent a competently elected MP from being sworn in. They then woke up at dawn to sit at the majority area of the chamber to signal that they were the Majority by force. They went on to elect the Speaker that led to the beating of a thief who stole ballot papers and chewed them like a goat does. I will not stop thanking Hon. Muntaka for that act.

Months later, by the help of the Unanimous FC (their allies in these dubious deals), they succeeded in throwing out the MP for the Assin North Constituency. Remember, Jean Mensah had already gifted them a parliamentary seat in Hohoe with a fiat, saying the people of SALL could not vote in the
Parliamentary elections

It was like the Unanimous FC gave a bad penalty in Assin North to the NP to take a commanding lead. The great Gyakye Quayson made mince meat of their money sharing and violent attacks on individuals with the Fa nu fom formula. Nebuchadnezzar has been humbled to eat grass like an animal. Indeed, vanity upon vanity is vanity.

The efforts of Jean Mensah, the unrepentant Unanimous FC, and the deployments of the military couldn’t save the NPP when it mattered most. Our elders say, “he who laughs last, laughs best. Congratulations, Mr. Speaker. Congratulations, our 127 gallant members of the new Majority in Parliament. You deserve it

The NPP had to run with their tails in between their legs. In fact, what were the NPP defending? Their people who had betrayed them and gone independent? Or defending the NDC candidate who is waiting for his letter? Or their returnee from subibor? This only happens to people with no principles

Ahead of the 2024 elections, the EC and the Unanimous FC are at it again, trying to gift a seat to the NPP ahead of the elections. They will have eggs in their faces this time.

It’s been an eventful 4 years. May the souls of the 8 people who were killed rest in peace. The day of judgement for those killers will be in 2025. Let’s keep hope alive, better days ahead
