As the sun set on a momentous day, graduates gathered to celebrate their achievements at the UPSA 16th Congregation ceremony, which took place at the Ohene Konadu Auditorium.
Among them stood an exceptional individual, Faustina Abakah: the valedictorian, bagging an impressive Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.9 out of 4.0.
A Journey of Dedication and Resilience.
Miss Abakah’s educational journey has been one of perseverance and determination in her early stage of education which began in Abetifi, a town in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
She then proceeded to Methodist High School for her secondary education. After completion, her exceptional academic performance earned her a MasterCard Scholarship, which allowed her to pursue her first degree at the University of Cape Coast, where she excelled gracefully.
Miss Abakah gained admission to UPSA in 2022 to pursue an MBA in Corporate Communications where she juggled between work, school, and leadership duties. She served as the course rep and made a tremendous impact on her colleagues.
Professional Background
Professionally, Faustina began her career as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani. Her journey further led her to roles at Vodafone Ghana and currently, she contributes her expertise at Absa Bank Ghana. Driven by ambition, Faustina aspires to ascend to the role of CEO and to impart knowledge as a lecturer in the future.
Growing up as the eldest of six siblings, Faustina embraced the responsibility of setting a precedent in education, fueled by her parents’ belief in its transformative potential despite their limited educational opportunities. This commitment has not only shaped her trajectory but has also paved the way for her siblings.
A staunch member of the Church of Pentecost, Faustina is guided by her belief in providing opportunities for growth and flourishing, a philosophy that she applies to both her personal and professional life.
Faustina Abakah’s achievements highlight not only her academic excellence but also her unwavering dedication to using education as a tool for empowerment and change, setting an inspiring example for her peers and the younger generation alike.
