Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ending the double-track system currently in place in Senior High Schools (SHSs) if they are elected to power. He further pledged that the NDC administration would prioritize the completion of all day schools to expand students’ access to quality education.
This announcement was made by the NDC Chairman during his address to constituents in Sekyeredumasi as part of his tour of the Ashanti Region.
While expressing support for the Free SHS policy, Asiedu Nketiah emphasized that an NDC-led administration would work to improve the initiative, ensuring better outcomes for students across the country.
“Our strategy is to complete all 200 community day schools. This will ensure all students have access to education. There will be enough dormitories, classrooms, and all amenities to ensure they all go to school in the same period.”
“The prevailing double-track system, where students go to school for three months and stay home for six months, will be cancelled under the next NDC administration,” Nketiah said.
