President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reaffirmed his government’s remarkable achievements in infrastructure development, asserting that his administration has constructed more roads and interchanges than any other in Ghana’s history.
Speaking at the commissioning of the newly completed Flower Pot Interchange in Accra on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the President emphasized his administration’s dedication to creating a robust infrastructure network that benefits all Ghanaians.
“This project is one of many across the country,” President Akufo-Addo stated. “From the Northern Savanna to the southern coastline and from east to west, we are building a new Ghana—a Ghana where roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals symbolize progress for everyone.”
Highlighting specific accomplishments in the Greater Accra Region, he noted the completion of key projects such as:
- The Pokuase Interchange
- The Tema Motorway Interchange (Phase I)
- The Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange (Phase I)
- The East Legon Underpass
- The Flower Pot Interchange
President Akufo-Addo also drew attention to significant infrastructure developments outside Accra, including the first-ever interchanges in the Eastern Region (Suhum) and Northern Region (Tamale).
“These projects represent our unwavering commitment to a Ghana that is constantly moving forward,” he remarked.
Concluding his address, the President proudly stated, “It is fitting to acknowledge that this administration has constructed more roads and interchanges than any other in our nation’s history.”
The Flower Pot Interchange, a critical component of Ghana’s transportation network, is expected to ease traffic congestion and enhance economic activity, further solidifying the President’s legacy in infrastructure development.
