The NDC has called on Ghana’s security agencies, particularly the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of Defence Staff, to ensure transparency and fairness in the upcoming general elections. At a press conference, the party accused Brigadier-General Michael Opoku of leading a plot to rig the elections and questioned the neutrality of some security officials.

The NDC cited concerns about the alleged use of security forces to intimidate voters and tamper with election results, calling for immediate action to address these issues. The party also highlighted unresolved cases from the 2020 elections, where eight people lost their lives, as a reminder of the need for vigilance and accountability.

“Elections are about counting heads, not cutting heads. Ghana cannot afford another violent election,” the party stated, urging security leaders to rise above partisanship.
