Empower New Energy has signed a landmark agreement to deliver a renewable energy solution for Narubiz Ltd., a leading natural rubber processing factory in Dompim No. 1, Western Region, Ghana. The project involves the installation of a 1.055 MWp Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system paired with a 4 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), aimed at addressing energy challenges while boosting the factory’s productivity and sustainability.
The facility, inaugurated in 2021 by President Nana Akufo-Addo, has struggled with high energy costs and unreliable electricity, hampering its operations. With a workforce largely sourced from the local community and over 1,700 rubber out-growers supplying raw materials, Narubiz plays a pivotal role in the regional economy.
The renewable energy investment will:
- Replace over 600 tons of CO2 emissions annually, totaling 10,000 tons over the project’s lifespan.
- Reduce dependency on diesel generators, offering a cleaner, more cost-effective energy solution.
Key Stakeholders Present at the Signing Ceremony:
