The People’s National Convention (PNC) has officially declared its support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the upcoming December polls.
This decision follows consultations with the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) and Functional Executive Committee (FEC). Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, PNC National Chairman Samson Asaki Awingobit announced the endorsement.
“Nine days to the general election, the PNC, not having a presidential candidate, cannot sit neutral,” Awingobit stated. “In consultation with the leader, and after deliberations with NEC and FEC members, the majority have collectively declared that the PNC will throw its support to the NDC presidential candidate for the 2024 general election.”
Awingobit explained that the decision aims to foster collaboration between the PNC and the next NDC-led government, underscoring their commitment to supporting the NDC’s agenda.
This endorsement adds a significant layer to the alliances shaping Ghana’s political landscape as the December elections approach.
