The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has debunked reports suggesting plans to move its headquarters from Accra, Ghana, to Nigeria due to financial constraints.
Media speculation linked the alleged relocation to the Ghanaian government’s financial indebtedness, reportedly affecting WAEC’s operations. However, WAEC’s Head of Public Relations, John Kapi, has firmly denied the claims.
“There hasn’t been any discussion in this direction,” Kapi stated. “The law that established WAEC indicates that the headquarters will be situated here in Accra. Ever since, there has been no change to that.”
WAEC reassures stakeholders that its headquarters will remain in Ghana, dismissing the rumors as baseless.
