The Electoral Commission (EC) office in Damongo has been set ablaze by an angry mob of youth over delays in the declaration of election results.

The fire caused extensive damage to the office and its contents, leaving the facility in ruins. Frustrated by the prolonged wait for the announcement of results, the youth stormed the EC office and set it alight.

The blaze spread quickly, engulfing the entire building before emergency responders could intervene. Authorities are investigating the incident, and the Ghana Police Service is working to restore calm in the area. Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service is assessing the extent of the damage.

The EC has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
