
The Ghana Police Service has issued a warning to the public, urging individuals and faith-based organizations against spreading misinformation and disinformation, including prophecies that could cause fear and panic.
“The Police would like to take this opportunity to caution the public, especially faith-based organizations and individuals, against the publication of misinformation and disinformation, including prophecies likely to cause fear and panic or endanger lives.”
The Ghana Police Service has also reassured the public that extensive security measures are in place for the festive season and beyond.
In a statement signed by Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Assistant Commissioner of Police Director, Public Affairs, the police has expressed gratitude for the cooperation of Ghanaians over the past year, stating,
“The Ghana Police Service wishes to commend Ghanaians for their understanding, cooperation, and support throughout the year that has significantly contributed to the maintenance of peace, security, law, and order in our beloved country.”
“Residential and highway patrols have been intensified to enhance public safety and protect lives and property,” the police confirmed.
Officers will also be deployed at major intersections and public roads to ensure smooth traffic flow and strict compliance with traffic regulations, particularly in areas where large social, entertainment, and religious events will take place.
Security will be heightened at faith-based events and public gatherings across the country to maintain a peaceful atmosphere.
