Zara, a determined and ambitious young woman, has been navigating a life full of power struggles, family expectations, and complex relationships. Her journey took a dramatic turn when she became entangled with the enigmatic Lawson Group and its elusive leader, Mr. Lawson, who was presumed dead following a helicopter crash.
As Zara’s duties at the Lawson Group increased, her personal relationships began to strain. She found herself torn between Ozzy, her demanding boss and Menny, her longtime friend who was becoming increasingly concerned about her.
The situation became even more complicated after a kiss between Zara and Ozzy, which raised suspicions. Meanwhile, Tolani, Zara’s colleague, and Menny grew increasingly suspicious of Zara’s growing closeness with her boss.
Simultaneously, a scandal erupted within the Lawson Group, centered around Mr. Etim Etim, whose leaked photos caused irreparable damage to the company’s reputation. The fallout from the scandal intensified the internal conflicts at the Lawson Group, where crucial decisions regarding the vacant chairman’s position had to be made.
Meanwhile, Zara’s personal struggles took a heavy toll on her. She was haunted by flashbacks of a clash with her former boss, Mr. Bello. Overcome with guilt, Zara began to question her actions and decisions looking for guidance on how to handle her mistakes.
Under mounting pressure, Zara resolved to confront Mr. Lawson, intending to end their arrangement and live a normal life. However, Mr. Lawson hesitated and revealed deeper secrets, disclosing to Zara that his helicopter wasn’t an accident but an attempted murder by someone close to him. He insisted that Zara stay close as his spy, compelling her to move into his residence for her safety.
Outside the corporate world, Zara’s personal life began to crack. At home, her mother confronted her about her absence. Frustrated, Zara lashed out, expressing her exhaustion and the sacrifices had made to keep the family debt free.
The leadership struggle at the Lawson Group reached new heights when the board proposed Folusho Dada, the CEO of Zanzibar App, as the new chairman.
Zara brought back intel for Mr. Lawson, revealing that the board was leaning in favour of Folusho Dada. However, tensions reached a breaking point in the boardroom as Ogun Holdings made its move.
Through its lawyer, Ogun Holdings announced that it now held the largest shareholding in Lawson Group and demanded that the CEO selection process be suspended until they could present their candidate.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lawson gives Zara a cryptic task to weaken Mrs. Obiora’s influence on the board. Apparently, the delay in naming a new CEO is no accident – it’s all part of his bigger plan to crush his enemies. At this point, it is clear that Mr. Lawson is a master manipulator.
Then comes the big twist: Mr. Lawson uncovers Madam Obiora’s alleged poisoning of her husband to gain his assets. However, Mr. Patrick Obiora’s will was revealed to have left his shares to Ozzy, stripping Mrs. Obiora of her power on the board. This leads to a heated argument between Ozzy and Mr. Lawson, where Ozzy accuses him of going too far.
The real shock comes when Mr. Lawson makes a dramatic return to the boardroom, leaving everyone stunned. With his usual confidence, he hints at a new mission for Zara to investigate Ogun Holdings.
