Lawyers in Search of Democracy (LINSOD) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Honourable Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong on her appointment as Legal Counsel to President John Dramani Mahama.
The former Attorney General’s selection marks a significant milestone in Ghana’s political and legal landscape.
In a statement by LINSOD President, Eric Delanyo Alifo, the group described Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong’s appointment as historic, citing her exceptional qualifications and commitment to excellence.
“Honourable Marietta Brew, being a female, and having been a former Attorney General of the Republic of Ghana, brings to this office a high level of competence, prudence, and honesty. It is by every standard, a historic appointment, and being part of LINSOD, and a mentor to many of our young lawyers, we cannot be more proud of her achievement and elevation to the high office of Legal Counsel to the President of Ghana.”
As a senior member of LINSOD and a mentor to many young lawyers, her new role has been met with pride and admiration from her colleagues.
The group pledged unwavering support to the newly appointed Legal Counsel, emphasizing their readiness to assist her whenever the need may arise.
“We trust that she shall deliver her duties with distinction, and her appointment shall be a motivation for all of us, especially our female lawyers who look up to her.”
