The Majority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that all four independent Members of Parliament have decided to align with the Majority Caucus in Parliament.
Dr. Forson revealed that while all four MPs have confirmed their decision, only Kwame Asare Obeng, the MP for Gomoa Central, has officially communicated his stance to the Majority Caucus.
The remaining three MPs—Ohene Kwame Frimpong (MP for Asante Akim North),Nandaya Yaw Stanley (MP for Wulensi), and Worlasi Kpeli (MP for Afram Plains North)—have been directed to formally notify both the Majority Caucus and the Speaker of Parliament to validate their decision.
“Currently, we have received letters from all four of them. So, Mr. Speaker, we’ll wait for them to officially write to you,” Dr. Forson stated during a parliamentary session on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
He added, “Mr. Speaker, my attention [has been drawn to the fact] that so far, the MP for Gomoa Central has written to us, but the rest are yet to write officially to confirm their positions.”
