The Ghana Music Awards USA (GMA USA), led by Dennis Boafo, known as Don D, has reached its sixth anniversary, highlighting its significant role in the promotion and recognition of Ghanaian music within the United States.
Founded by Don’s Music Production in 2019 and officially launched in 2020, the awards aim to bridge the gap between Ghanaian artists and the global music scene by providing them with a platform for acknowledgment similar to international music awards.
Boafo has pointed out that GMA USA fills a unique niche by celebrating Ghanaian musical talent in America, something not previously organized by any Ghanaian-based entity.
This year, the event is scheduled for August 16 in Atlantic City, promising an engaging weekend with beach-themed festivities, live music performances, and various after-parties, which not only celebrate the music but also foster a sense of community and cultural exchange among the diaspora.
