President Mahama submits third batch of Ministerial nominees for Parliamentary approval

President John Dramani Mahama has announced his third batch of ministerial and regional ministerial appointments, submitting the nominees to Parliament for prior approval.

In a statement, signed by the Acting spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu highlights the inclusion of prominent figures in various ministries as part of his new government.

Regional Ministers-Designate 

The President has nominated the following individuals to serve as Regional Ministers:

Upper West Region: Puozuing Charles Lwanga

Bono Region: Joseph Addae Akwaboa

Bono East Region: Francis Owusu Antwi

Ministers of State- Designate

In addition, several Members of Parliament and other notable individuals have been nominated to head various ministries:

Ministry of Defence: Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah

Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations: Samuel Nartey George, MP

Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources: Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP

Ministry of Sports and Recreation: Kofi Iddie Adams, MP

Ministry of Labour, Jobs, and Employment: Abdul-Rashid H. Pelpuo, MP

Ministry of Health: Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, MP

Ministry of Environment, Science, and Technology: Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, MP

Ministry of Transport: Joseph Bukari Nikpe, MP

Ministry of Interior: Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, MP

Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP

Ministry of Works, Housing, and Water Resources: Adjel Kenneth Gilbert

Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives: Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, MP

Minister of State, Government Communications: Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP

Minister of State, Climate Change and Sustainability: Issifu Seidu, MP

The President has called on Parliament to expedite the vetting and approval process to ensure the timely commencement of work in these critical sectors.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson to the President, confirmed the nominations in a press release on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
