The National Democratic Congress (NDC) regional office in Ho has been set ablaze by unidentified attackers, leaving extensive property damage.

According to reports, the attackers vandalized the office before igniting the fire. Vital equipment, including computers, photocopiers, and fans, as well as important documents, were destroyed in the incident.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded promptly and managed to extinguish the flames, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures. However, the damage caused is substantial, raising concerns among party members and residents.

Preliminary reports suggest the attack could be linked to discontent over recent ministerial appointments by President John Dramani Mahama. Some locals reportedly expressed disappointment over the exclusion of a Ho Central native from the list of appointees.

Although investigations have been launched, the perpetrators and their exact motives remain unknown. Local authorities are urging residents to remain calm as they work to unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The incident has drawn widespread condemnation from political stakeholders and the general public, with many calling for unity and a peaceful resolution of grievances to prevent further tensions in the area.
