Hon. Nana Asafo-Adjei Ayeh, MP for Bosome Freho, has called on President Mahama to build a cabbage processing factory in his constituency.
The MP said Adieto and its environs in the Bosome Freho District grow cabbage on a large scale and just like Komenda had sugar cane and the government decided to build a sugar processing plant, the Bosome Freho area too will do well with a cabbage processing factory.
Cabbage grows well in these areas, and it is strategic for the government to establish a factory there to feed West Africa.
Hon. Asafo-Adjei made the call on the floor of Parliament when he was contributing to the benefits of Ghana hosting the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (Afcta) Secretariat
He revealed that the World Bank is envisaging that 3 million jobs will be created in addition to a $450 billion growth in Africa.
This he believes must benefit Ghana and the people of Bosome Freho.
He singled out Mr. Kwesi Quartey, a former Deputy Commissioner of AU, for his role in ensuring that Ghana won the bid to host the Afcta Secretariat.
