
Parliament has approved Agnes Naa Momo Lartey as the new Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
During her vetting, Lartey emphasized her commitment to integrating Ghanaian family values into the national education curriculum, aiming to instill societal norms in the younger generation from an early age.
She also pledged to advocate for extending maternity leave beyond the current three months, highlighting the benefits for both mothers and newborns. Additionally, Lartey expressed intentions to explore the introduction of a paternity leave policy to promote equitable caregiving responsibilities.
The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection is dedicated to achieving gender equality, enforcing children’s rights, and promoting the integration and protection of vulnerable groups and persons with disabilities in Ghana.
