Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has lifted the suspension of four Members of Parliament (MPs) who were sanctioned following a chaotic confrontation during the vetting of ministerial nominees on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

The disruption occurred after the vetting of MPs Sam George and Kofi Adams when a disagreement arose between the Minority and Majority over whether to continue the process with Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Kwabena Mintah Akandoh. While the Majority pushed for the vetting to proceed, the Minority insisted that it should resume the following day, leading to heated exchanges and physical altercations.

In response to the fracas, Speaker Bagbin imposed a two-week suspension on four MPs involved in the disorder. However, following a review of the incident, he has now lifted the suspension, allowing the affected MPs to resume their parliamentary duties.

The move is aimed at restoring order in Parliament and ensuring that proceedings continue without further disruptions.
