
A delegation of Accredited Female Ambassadors to Ghana has pledged support for 20 Ghanaian youth under their flagship program, the DAF Youth Empowerment and Training Center (DAFYETC), the pledge was made during a courtesy call on H.E. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman, Vice President of Ghana, on February 4, 2025.
The delegation, led by H.E. Dr. Erieka Bennett, Founder of the official Embassy for the 6th Region of Africa, andH.E. Imane Ouaadil, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco and Dean of Women Ambassadors in Ghana, reaffirmed their dedication to Ghana’s development.
During the meeting, Dr. Bennett presented the vision of DAFYETC, emphasizing the center’s mission to equip young people with Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills to boost their employability.
“The DAFYETC pledged 20 scholarships to the Vice President and will work with her office to help support youth empowerment in Ghana. Now, we are open to receiving young people for training, aiming to support the Ghanaian youth in acquiring digital skills and enhancing their employability. This initiative aligns with the global efforts to promote digital inclusion and bridge the gap in ICT skills, particularly among young people”, Dr. Bennett stated.
The scholarships will be administered in collaboration with the Office of the Vice President, reinforcing the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and digital inclusion.
Vice President Opoku-Agyeman welcomed the initiative, commending the ambassadors and DAFYETC for their dedication to Ghana’s young generation. She emphasized the importance of partnerships in tackling unemployment and equipping the youth with relevant skills for the evolving job market.
“This is an important step in ensuring that more young people have access to digital skills and opportunities that can transform their lives,” she stated.
